Screw blower for steel mill

1. The rotor adopts a large shaft diameter design, which provides higher shaft stiffness and load-bearing capacity.

2. The locating end uses a combination of four-point angular contact ball bearings and cylindrical roller bearings, ensuring that the bearings have sufficient load capacity and stability under extreme conditions, prolonging bearing life.

3. The casing adopts a mid-connection structural design, which ensures uniform stress distribution and improves the overall load-bearing capacity of the casing; the large reinforced rib design enhances the casing stiffness, ensuring reliable operation under high pressure.

4. Splash lubrication is used, resulting in low oil-stirring power consumption, ensuring a stable supply of lubricating oil to gears and bearings.

5. The unique air seal design provides good sealing performance and long service life.

6. The end cover adopts a streamlined heat sink design, which is more conducive to gearbox cooling. ...

Product Details

The screw machine, also known as the screw compressor, is a type of rotary positive displacement compressor [7]. Its working principle is to compress gas through a pair of intermeshing helical rotors [6].

Screw compressors are mainly divided into two categories: oil-free and oil-injected.

Oil-free screw compressors were developed first, and oil-injected screw air compressors were introduced to the market in 1957 [1]. Screw compressors are characterized by high reliability, ease of operation and maintenance, and good power balance.

In terms of technological development, they have evolved from symmetrical arc profiles to asymmetrical profiles and then to third-generation rotor profiles [6]. The localization of screw compressors in China began in the 1980s [7]. Screw compressors are applied in various fields such as aerodynamics, refrigeration and air conditioning, petrochemicals, and the food and pharmaceutical industries.

Screw blowers for steel plants focus on low pressure, high flow, oil-free cleanliness, and permanent magnet variable frequency energy saving. They are used for desulfurization oxidation, dust collector back blowing, gas pressurization, material fluidization, and sewage aeration.

1. Core Application Scenarios (Steel Plant)

1.1 Sintering / Pelletizing Process

Flue Gas Desulfurization and Oxidation: Provides oxidation air (0.08–0.12 MPa) to the desulfurization tower to oxidize calcium sulfite into calcium sulfate; oil-free air prevents catalyst poisoning.

Pulse Back Blowing for Dust Removal: Pulse back blowing for bag/electric bag dust collectors (0.2–0.3 MPa) to clean the filter bags, stabilize pressure difference, and improve dust collection efficiency.

Material Fluidization / Homogenization: Fluidization of sinter/pellet material bins (0.1–0.2 MPa) to prevent material bridging and segregation, ensuring uniform discharge.

1.2 Ironmaking Blast Furnace Area

Coal Powder Injection (Low Pressure Section): Low-pressure transfer of coal powder (0.3–0.5 MPa), used with high-pressure compressors to replace coke and reduce costs.

Blast Furnace Gas Pressurization: Gas cabinet/pipeline network pressurization (0.15–0.25 MPa), transporting to hot blast stove/power plant, recovering residual pressure, and saving energy.

Furnace Body Cooling and Purging: Cooling air for walls and tuyeres, pipeline purging to prevent overheating and dust accumulation.

1.3 Steelmaking / Continuous Casting Process

Converter / Electric Furnace Dust Removal: Dust collection for furnace hoods and pipelines, maintaining negative pressure and reducing overflow.

Molten Steel Refining (LF/RH): Bottom blowing with argon/nitrogen (0.1–0.3 MPa) to homogenize composition and temperature, and remove inclusions.

Continuous Casting Secondary Cooling and Purging: Nozzle cooling air and surface purging of the billet to improve surface quality.

1.4 Wastewater Treatment and Utilities

Wastewater Biochemical Aeration: Aeration tanks for steelmaking/continuous casting wastewater treatment (0.05–0.08 MPa) provide oxygen for organic matter degradation.

Sludge Drying / Transport: Sludge transport and drying airflow to reduce moisture content and facilitate disposal.
