Rotary Feeder

A rotary feeder, often called a rotary valve or airlock, is a volumetric feeding device used for the uniform and metered transfer of dry powders and granular materials. Its core component is a rotor with multiple vanes that rotates continuously within a housing. Material is fed from the hopper above into the pockets between the vanes and is carried to the bottom for discharge, enabling continuous feeding. Its most critical function is to act as an "airlock" in pneumatic conveying systems. The tight clearance between the rotor and housing effectively isolates differential pressures, preventing system air from blowing back and ensuring stable operation. Renowned for its simple structure and reliable operation, it is an indispensable component in bulk material handling systems across industries such as building materials, chemicals, food, and environmental protection.
